Profile
About
I am an art director and writer with a demonstrated history of working in the design and advertising industry. Currently I work in the Chief Creative Office at USAA. I am also the co-founder/creative director of a small art studio called Wide Awake, where we specialize in creating unique experiences. One of my personal passions is finding ways to share my Mexican heritage. In 2021, my sister and I released our first children's book, Camilla la Magica Makes Tamales, where we share the meaning of traditional Tamaladas and kid friendly recipes.
Experience
I have worked in advertising for over 10 years. I started working in multi-cultural agencies in San Antonio and then moved to Chicago where I worked at FCB on digital, retail and experiential accounts. Some of my clients include Whataburger, Twang, Discover card, Pabst Blue Ribbon, GE, Dove Chocolate and Boeing.
Skills
I am skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Sketch, Figma, After Effects, Photoshop, PremierPro and Lightroom. I have also art directed and led photo and video shoots.
Volunteer
During my time in Chicago, I was a mentor for the 'She Runs It' organization. Previously, I have served as a committee member for the 'Centro de Artes' art gallery, where I consult on artist programming and marketing strategies. Currently, I am a board member for "LaunchSA."
